When COVID-19 broke out in the United States, I wanted to find a way I could help. Masks were out of stock everywhere. My mom taught me how to use a sewing machine, and I made masks and reached out to various centers around the country to offer homemade cloth masks. Initially, it was a challenge to get materials. I sent out flyers in my neighborhood requesting cloth. The response from my neighbors was overwhelming. I am also grateful to my younger brother for joining me in this effort. - Mihir Kelkar (April 2020)
